BIRCH, DAMANSARA CITY MALL
Hello foodies! It's been a while. Been busy with many things in life, as we all are... A few days ago, my BFF was back from overseas, and of course a catch up session is a must and not to mention, FOOD!
We decided to explore Damansara City Mall and eventually came across this nice little cafe, Birch!

KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN BRIOCHE / RM22 Spicy fried buttermilk chicken, young papaya slaw, Korean hot sauce, fries |
With all these Korean Fried Chicken craze everywhere, this is definitely worth a mention. Look at the crispy chicken batter, seasoned with the Korean hot sauce! They have done really well in giving this authentic Korean flavour a western twist.
Paired with the sheared papaya slaw, the tinge of sour opens up your appetite even more.
And their fat straight cut fries!! Irresistable.
Having said that, if you are really picky with your chicken, the lack of juicy-ness in the chicken might put you off...

Avocado and feta toast is a must try, totally deserved a 9/10 from me!
You see, I was never a fan of avocado. It didn't even catch my eye when I saw it on the menu.
Buttttt, (not to exaggerate here) I instantly fell in love with it after having the first bite.
The smooth and creamy texture of the crushed avocado with a tinge of lemon which coated nicely on the feta cheese is a match made in heaven!
Munching it with the toasted 7-grain sourdough... Absolutely ammmmmaaaazzzzinggg!!! Not sure what was added to the sourdough, definitely some sesame seeds, definitely some nuts. The best thing about it is what I call the chewiness, to fully immerse in the taste of the avocado.
If you are not a fan of avocado like me, this dish might make you change your mind!

Organic calming chamomile ~ At first i thought it comes in a tea bag, but what impressed me was the real chamomile flowers!
Its the perfect drink to relax and wind down after a longs day of work...
Do you think that’s all that we have ordered?
Of course NOT!
A meal is never perfect without dessert!

We decided on The Huckleberry Burnt Cheesecake (RM18 per slice) and the standard red velvet cake (RM 6.90).

I felt that the cupcake was a bit too dry, slightly better with the cream cheese frosting.
Overall, its a 9/10 for this place!
The interior design of Birch is super comfortable and creates a great atmosphere to catch up with friends while enjoying yummy foods.
Just a note to self: need to try the Macadamia Cheese next time. It looked really tempting!
